"Our relationship with Curtain Call (Joan) started in 2002 when we purchased a home in South Surrey. We checked out a few Interior Designers & selected Joan due to her years of experience, expertise and as her proposals met our needs. Our initial projects which covered draperies, kitchen reno, MB ensemble & painting were all completed to our satisfaction. In 2010 we downsized to a Townhouse & had no hesitation calling on Joan for decorating ideas prior to moving in Renovations included flooring, new Island in Kitchen as well as replacing of counter tops, backsplash and painting of entire Townhouse. In 2019 we again called on Joan for a major project which resulted in the total gutting and re-design of our MB ensuite. The various stages of this project were all completed within the time frame and budget originally established. We were totally satisfied & have received many compliments from Family & Friends who described it as a "SPA". Shortly thereafter Curtain Call co-ordinated minor renovations to our 2nd Bedroom ensuite. Very recently Joan co-ordinated the design, production & installation of Draperies in all 3 Bedrooms. In all our projects Joan not only provided decorating/design ideas but provided full costing along with inspections & overall management. The trades people assigned to our projects were all very accommodating, knowledgeable and kept workplace clean. Work overall was done to our satisfaction and with Joan's close supervision any defects noted, at the time or later, were always quickly fixed. We have also had many interactions with Michelle, from Curtain Call, who, like Joan, goes "beyond her call of duty" to accommodate us. "To the terrific team at The Curtain Call!!!! What a journey this has been so far! This all started one year ago when I needed help with window coverings. Joan came to my home, took measurements, and provided me with a wide assortment of fabrics to select from. Best of all, guidance and advice too. My windows look amazing now! From there, Joan arranged mouldings around door frames, mirrors in bathrooms, and a new garage door opener that flips to battery mode in the event of a power loss. From there, a bidet/toilet (washlet). The tradespeople who came to my home (plumber, electrician, carpenter, and window covering installer) were nothing short of perfect. Arrived on time, polite, professional, and left zero mess when they left, taking all the garbage with them. Joan also has an amazing office and design team, who are there to answer questions and also knowledgeable, friendly, and polite! This has been an amazing journey so far! "Three years ago, we decided to do a renovation to the house which we were moving into in South Surrey. A close friend of mine highly recommended Joan Walker and The Curtain Call. At first we were only considering painting and wanted some colour advice. But the little reno became a big one – we replaced the flooring, moved a fireplace, painted the whole interior, updated the kitchen, did tilework in the kitchen, master bathroom and laundry room, and more. Joan acted as our general contractor as well as the designer for the project. The biggest project (there were several) was a complete re-design and rebuild of a gas fireplace installation. I wouldn’t have known where to start if I had tried to undertake this project on my own. The designer found the mantle builders, the decorative tile, and even took me to the fireplace factory to see the inserts on display. "We found ourselves in need of remodelling our old bathroom with a tub and sliding glass door to a walk in shower and we needed it quickly. I called The Curtain Call and the owner Joan was quick to come to our rescue. She came over immediately and we sat down to discuss what can be done, how quickly it can be done and importantly, how much will it cost. I was impressed with Joan’s knowledge and her vision of what the bathroom will be like when finished and what we can do within our budget. She had a small space in which to work and it would have to be a custom build. She provided her expertise in tile and shower heads and what she felt we would need to make this shower accessible for everyone and still give it style. She gave me a timeline, what trades will come in, how long they will be there and what they will be doing while they are there. Everything Joan said would happen, did. Joan was in constant contact with me throughout the project and her organization skills and trades were exceptional. The walk in shower turned out spectacular and ON BUDGET! Within 10 days we were using the shower and have been very happy with the outcome. Everyone who sees it is impressed. I will tell you that rain shower is divine. We are one happy family. Right from the initial consultation, Joan inspired our confidence in her experience, professionalism, and creativity.
